Introducing our new Villa Beji.
Beji in Balinese means “a place of holy spring water“. Our staff chose the name because of the holy springs located below the villa by the sacred Petanu River. Water is gathered here for many traditional ceremonies.
Many sites in Melayang are of great spiritual significance. It is known that an ancient civilization existed here more than 2,000 years ago. Two stone sarcophagi were unearthed in the village which are estimated to be 2,500 years old and are believed to have contained the bodies of local kings. They can be viewed at the Archaeological Museum in Pejeng.

The villa was designed by Ida Bagus Wiadnyana. As with Villa Awang Awang, it was planned with the correct alignments to the Holy Mountain and blessing ceremonies have been held throughout the building stages in accordance with local traditions.
As far as possible, natural materials have been used - local stone, hand-made terracotta floor tiles, coconut wood columns and ironwood shingles for the roof.

Entry to the villa can be made from 2 levels
The upper level consists of 2 bedrooms, each with an en-suite with marble tiled floors, terrazzo bath tub and a natural stone open shower area. Queen-sized beds have been made from beautiful Bayur wood by a local craftsman. A large outdoor terrace furnished with black bamboo lounge chairs is the ideal place to relax and enjoy the lush valley views.
The lower level contains the kitchen, living room, an area for outdoor dining overlooking the jungle and river, and a patio to the infinity edge pool, gazebo and sunbathing area.
Perfect for yoga, meditation, or just listening
Steps shaded by a large holy banyan tree lead down to a thatched pavilion - perfect for yoga, meditation, or just listening to the sounds of the river. Another path lined by cocoa and coffee trees leads to a special temple for the river deities.
An Eco-Friendly Approach
To protect the special environment a bio-septic system is used which treats waste through an aerobic system and is then recycled to the garden.
The pool uses an ionisation sterilisation method.

Our gardeners are presently expanding the organic garden to include edible and medicinal plants. We hope soon to serve guests with our own organic produce.
